The ‘Scotland of the East’ is the capital of Meghalaya, differs from other hill stations of northeast in some ways. Being conveniently motorable in most parts is one of them. A pleasant climatethroughout the year is another. Though temperature may sometimes drop to 4 degrees Celsius, days are generally sunny and comfortable. It is at the altitude of 1496 meters above sea level. Local visits includes the Lake, Botanical Garden, State Museum, The Butterfly Museum.
